THE RURAL YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION

The Rural Youth Development Foundation (RYDF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for the socio-economic advancement of rural communities through youth empowerment. We aim to bridge the gap between rural youth and the knowledge, skills, and opportunities essential for sustainable community development.

Rural communities face numerous socio-economic challenges, including limited access to basic services and information, high unemployment rates, poverty, rising crime, and teenage pregnancy. To overcome these challenges, young people require guidance, skills training, and entrepreneurial support that cannot be provided by families, schools, or higher institutions of learning alone.

Our Mission:

By empowering rural youth, we aim to transform their socio-economic landscape, targeting a positive impact on over 500,000 young lives by 2030. Through strategic partnerships with schools, government departments, and other stakeholders, RYDF aligns its goals with South Africa's National Development Plan (Vision 2030).

Our Impact Strategy

We aim to launch our initial operations in the Mkhuhlu area, Bushbuckridge, before expanding into other communities, municipalities, and provinces. Partnering with the Department of Social Development, Department of Education, National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), and other stakeholders, we are dedicated to aligning our efforts with Vision 2030.
